Giusy Lauriola was born in Rome, where she lives and works.
Her artistic research emerges from a continuous dialogue between the external world and the inner dimension. After an initial phase focused on social and urban themes, her language gradually evolved toward a more intimate dimension, shaped by light, nature, water, the feminine and a sense of suspension.
Through the use of acrylic, enamel and resin, Lauriola creates layered surfaces in which colour becomes an emotional landscape and light takes on a structural role. Her works inhabit a threshold between the visible and the invisible, presence and dissolution, reality and imagination.
Since 2010, resin has become a distinctive element of her practice, enhancing depth, transparency and sensory perception. In recent years, her research has focused in particular on Suspended Atmospheres and Immersed Women, female figures that emerge from or dissolve into water and painterly matter, in a continuous dialogue between body, nature, memory and light.
This same research extends into Clouds of Light, luminous sculptures made of organza and resin, in which transparency, matter and light create a suspended presence in space.
Her works have been exhibited in Italy and internationally in museums, cultural institutions, contemporary art fairs and international venues, and are held in public and private collections.
